Maarten Walravens

Deputy of Chief Medical Officer, AZ Sint-Maarten, Belgium

Maarten Walravens is deputy of the Chief Medical Officer of St-Maarten Hospital in Mechelen (Belgium).  In this function he contributes to the overall strategic development and day-to-day running of the medical department/hospital and to the definition and realization of the organisation’s corporate objectives and the performance of the organisation in meeting them.
Special interest in digital Health, Change management In addition to this position, he is also Disaster Coordinator for the hospital.

Before this function, Maarten worked as staff member in University Hospital Brussels with focus on accreditation, quality and internationalization. Prior to this he was 6 years transplant & tissue coordinator in OLV Hospital in Aalst.

Maarten holds a Master’ in Health Science from the University of Maastricht (2003) and graduated as a nurse from Catholic High School Leuven in 2000.
