Key Contributions & Initiatives at Lindström:

  1. Lean and Efficient Supply Chain: Jarmo leads efforts to streamline Lindström’s supply model to ensure customer-centered service, emphasis in mitigating geopolitical risks and wasteful process steps – such as intermediate warehousing – to deliver workwear, mats and other textiles directly from manufacturing to customers, cutting lead time and saving costs. Under his leadership, Lindström balances individual product customization with cost and resource-efficiency, ensuring products are available when needed.
  1. Sustainability through On-Demand Production (PRODEM): He played a key role in establishing Lindström’s PRODEM (“Production on Demand”) model: PRODEM enables customer-driven, flexible production only when orders are placed, minimizing overproduction and textile waste. Lindström’s own facilities across Latvia, Hungary, and India operate under this model to serve local customer needs quickly and sustainably. The initiative is aligned with Lindström’s ambitious sustainability goals, including increasing recyclability (targeting 100%) and reducing carbon emissions.
  1. Technology, Traceability & Productivity: Jarmo has also pushed forward digital transformation in manufacturing. Through projects in collaboration with external technology suppliers, he introduced factory-wide UHF/RFID tracking, real-time monitoring, and integration of advanced systems like PLM, ERP, MES, APS to enhance transparency and control. These innovations have enabled Lindström’s PRODEM factories to reduce manufacturing lead time from several weeks to a single day while dramatically improving productivity.
