Kristo Vaher is the CTO of GovStack, former Government CTO of Estonia and a recognised GovTech expert with more than two decades of experience in technology strategy, software architecture and complex digital systems.
As Government CTO of Estonia, Kristo helped shape the technological vision, architecture and principles behind the continued development of Estonia’s digital government. His work has centred on a challenge relevant far beyond the public sector: how to build digital infrastructure that can evolve as technologies, requirements and environments change.
Today, as CTO of GovStack, Kristo works at an international scale on the architecture and standardisation of interoperable digital building blocks, including areas such as data exchange and digital identity.
Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture, interoperability and long-term adaptability – exploring how modular systems can be designed not only for today’s requirements, but for what comes next.
